To be or not to be creative
Sometimes I wonder what makes someone creative. When I am assigned a new design project, usually I like to meet with the clients to sense their needs and expectations on the mission. Several weeks ago, we where commissioned to develop a third party website. I approached the project as usual. We sat down with the client and asked a couple of establishing questions; sometimes you need to help the client understand the difference between their needs and their wishes. In exchange, I need the client to deliver some items in order to carry out the project on the stipulated date. Needles to say I have grown accustomed to the client not meeting their end of the bargain. Weather its content or media; usually it takes several phone calls and emails, for the client to send us half of the necessary items.
That’s where sometimes helping the client understand what they need doesn’t work. We must get creative, make something out of nothing. Well sometimes being creative means getting yourself out of a jam. In this case I was able to move forward on the project by taking a couple of pictures. We are not always that lucky.
