Up and running

It has been a crunch this week to get my site up and running. The Worpress installation was a breeze thanks to Dreamhost. I am happy with the current look of my site, as always it’s a painstaking process to tweak your layout. I was careful not to browse the web for sources of inspiration. Looking at other designs can really pollute your original idea.

Lately, at my current day-job, I have been given the opportunity to produce and direct a 1 hour documentary, this off course, among other minor projects. This has taken time away from my second passion: Designing user-friendly interactive applications. I am relatively new to CSS, in the sense of full blown custom layout via CSS; I always relayed on CSS to choose a font family or to give hyperlinks a cool hover decoration. Now I have arrived, I have held the power of unadulterated CSS. Ok maybe I went a little far, but CSS, when used properly is a beautiful thing. So what better way to put in to practice my new found skills than a crash-and burn, all week-end long marathon to assemble my personal web space?

I would like to extend an Uber-special thanks to Monkeyflash. With out his, sensei-like code expertise and killer critical eye, I would still be lost in CSS forest and PHP hell.

The sensei is honored and humbled by his pupil. Very nice to see such clean code here; great job.
